At Seeing Safely, our mission is to promote safety awareness among forestry workers by helping them recognize hidden hazards in their work environments. Forestry work presents unique dangers, and many accidents occur when these hazards go unnoticed. We believe that through education and awareness, workers can take proactive steps to protect themselves and their colleagues.
THE PROJECT
The genesis for this initiative is a continuation of the “Seeing Safely: Developing Better Perceptual Training for Forestry Professionals” project which was conducted by the University of British Columbia and the Safety Advisory Foundation for Education and Research (SAFER), with funding support provided by WorkSafeBC.
We take a hands-on, interactive approach to safety education. Through carefully designed quizzes and detailed hazard galleries, we present real-world scenarios to teach workers how to spot potential dangers. Whether it’s overhead hazards, falling trees, or unstable ground, we provide the tools to help forestry workers stay safe. By promoting a culture of vigilance and awareness, we aim to make safety a top priority in the industry.
